We’re delighted to share the fantastic news that specialist gastro pharmacist, Mohammed Allah-Ditta has officially been accredited by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society as a Consultant Pharmacist. This is a huge achievement and a real testament to his dedication, expertise, and commitment to patient care.
Becoming a Consultant Pharmacist is no easy task. It requires years of advanced practice, leadership, and research, all backed up by a rigorous credentialing process. Mohammed has shown excellence across all four pillars that define consultant-level practice including:
- Clinical practice - delivering expert, patient-focused care in gastroenterology, with a special interest in inflammatory bowel disease.
- Leadership - shaping and influencing local, regional, and national policy in gastroenterology.
- Research - collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external partners to generate new evidence that improves patient care.
- Education - sharing knowledge and supporting the development of others across the healthcare system.
To gain this recognition, Mohammed had to:
- Demonstrate advanced-level experience in patient care.
- Be signed off as competent in multiple clinical skills.
- Compile a comprehensive portfolio of evidence covering five domains: person-centred care, professional practice, leadership and management, education, and research.
- Have this portfolio independently scrutinised by an expert panel at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.
Consultant Pharmacists are senior clinical experts who don’t just deliver care but also help to drive change across the healthcare system. Their work improves outcomes for patients, advances clinical practice, and helps shape the future of healthcare.
Clinical Director of Pharmacy and CDAO, Lis Street, said: "This is fantastic news and a testament to his hard work and dedication to patient care. Super proud of him. This is so well deserved, it is no easy task to become accredited and he has worked so hard to get there. Well done Mohammed."
