As we approach the festive season, our Organisational Development (OD) team are sharing how colleagues can spread joy to support others in our local community. This year’s initiatives include ideas for teams to come together, give back, and enjoy some seasonal fun.

12 Days of Giving

In the lead up to Christmas, colleagues can donate items to support our own Top-Up Shop, or personally arrange for their donation to be given to a food bank.

You can drop items off at the Top-Up Shop (located outside the Lecture Theatre at HRI). If you work at CRH* but would like to make a donation, the OD Team can arrange for this to be collected between Monday, 15th and Friday, 19th December. Just email ODTeam@cht.nhs.uk to let them know when they can collect.

What sort of items does the Top-Up Shop need?

We've made suggestions below, though these items are welcomed at any time.

  • Day 1: tins of food
  • Day 2: dried food (e.g. pasta, rice)
  • Day 3: toiletries
  • Days 4 - 2: other essentials (biscuits, cereal, baby food, pet food, cleaning items, any long-dated food items)

If you take part in 12 Days of Giving, please share an image of your donations and let the OD Team know why you’re giving back during the festive period.

*We have looked for staff only areas at CRH where we can put a second Top-up Shop, but haven't as yet found a suitable location. If you have any ideas, please email ODTeam@cht.nhs.uk

Christmas Quiz

The OD team have also put together a festive quiz for teams to complete. The highest scoring team/colleague** will win a £25 Edenred Voucher.
