This year marks the 25th anniversary of our Little Stars Remembrance Tree which colleagues may have seen outside the CHS Outpatient Pharmacy at HRI over the past week.

The tree first went up in 2000 and is for parents, families, and friends, to write a message on a star in recognition of their lost baby. These are then hung on the tree for remembrance and to help give compassion and support to others through a difficult time.

Gynaecology Staff Nurse, Deborah Farmer, said: “The tree has been a huge success over the past 25 years with more than 1,000 messages being left, so we wanted to mark this special occasion with events over the Christmas period.”

As part of the celebration the team are also doing some fundraising to raise money for some Compassionate Clinical Care (CCC) Kits as recommended by the Pregnancy Loss Review.

They have a raffle and some Christmas scratch cards for colleagues who would like to take part.

Three different hampers are on offer as prizes. Tickets are £1 per strip.

  • Hamper with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, cheese, crackers, olives
  • A pamper hamper
  • A Christmas hamper

Christmas scratch cards cost £1 each and the prize is £15.

Tickets are available on HRI Ward 4D.

Stars are available at the Front Desk at HRI.
