Our very own Stef Smaczylo performed with the Ukrainian dance group, Podilya, at Thursday night's Eurovision Semi Finals in Liverpool.

Physiotherapist, Stef (pictured, bottom right), couldn't escape his physio whites, even for Eurovision!

Stef said: "I’m a second generation Ukrainian, and from the age of three I've been part of the dance group. The BBC got in touch with the group and we were called in for rehearsals last week.

"It's all been a bit of a whirlwind - I had to book annual leave without saying much!

"It’s a bit surreal, but I am so proud – I love doing what I do. Dancing represents the Ukrainian community in the UK - it's a nice group of people who have all grown up together and we are just one big family.

"Being able to represent Ukraine in the UK is a win-win situation for me."

Arley Byrne, AHP Senior Clinical Educator at CHFT, said: "Stef had taken some shifty annual leave but didn't tell anyone why - and he never mentioned to us that he danced. He didn't tell anybody because he had to sign a non-disclosure form. I messaged him when I saw that he was in Liverpool and he sent me a photo of him with his fellow dancers! Mystery solved."

ми тебе любимо, Stef!
