Here’s our clinical director of pharmacy, Lis Street and her deputy, Katherine Cullen, at a regional event last week to bring pharmacy colleagues together.

The pair have been working with Lindsay Greenhaigh, head of medicines optimisation for Kirklees, leading discussions with Integrated Care System (ICS) pharmacy colleagues (from all sectors) on how we can work more collaboratively to develop our pharmacy workforce of the future.

Lis said: “We organised an event at John Smith’s Stadium and had more than 40 people attend, including from the universities of Huddersfield and Bradford, Health Education England, Community Pharmacy West Yorkshire and ICS meds management leads.

“We also had colleagues from other community and acute trusts. It was a really positive day. There was lots of energy and enthusiasm in the room channelled to help solve some of the current workforce issues we face whilst also recognising opportunities to work together.

“We hope that by joining forces we will ensure that we have an attractive offer to new trainees applying to work in the exciting world of pharmacy. It was a great venue and we were only slightly distracted by the Huddersfield Giants training in the background.”
