Colleagues across the Trust are invited to take part in our Sexual Safety Briefing Sessions, designed to strengthen understanding of sexual safety and reinforce our shared commitment to a respectful, inclusive workplace for everyone.

The sessions will explore the key features of our new Sexual Misconduct Policy, which supports NHS England’s Sexual Safety in Healthcare Charter and reflects changes in legislation introduced through the Worker Protection Act 2023 (Amendment of Equality Act 2010). Together, these frameworks place a clear duty on all employers to take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment and ensure that everyone feels safe at work.

During the briefing, colleagues will learn:

  • What constitutes unwanted attention and sexual misconduct in the workplace.
  • How to respond if someone discloses or reports misconduct.
  • What actions to take if you witness inappropriate behaviour.
  • The range of support services available - including HR, Freedom to Speak Up and our Employee Assistance Programme (Vivup).

The sessions form part of our Trust’s zero-tolerance commitment to unwanted, inappropriate or harmful sexual behaviour. By fostering openness, transparency and early reporting, we can all play a part in ensuring that CHFT remains a safe and supportive environment for every colleague.
