Our Orthopaedic departments have been awarded a gold level National Joint Registry (NJR) Quality Data Provider for 2025.

The scheme provides hospitals with public recognition for achieving excellence in supporting the promotion of patient safety standards through their compliance with the mandatory National Joint Registry (NJR) data submission quality audit process.

They award certificates to those hospitals who have met their targets, and is three-tier: gold, silver and bronze award level. CHFT have been awarded gold as our Orthopaedic teams are achieving the most excellent data quality standards.

Orthopaedic Consultant, Guy McWilliams, said: "This is a team effort, reflecting the work put in by all colleagues. The submission is important as it provides governance for safer, higher-quality joint replacement care from the NJR which is the largest arthroplasty registry in the world.

"With audited data submission, it monitors the performance of implants, hospitals and surgeons. It provides informed patient choice and stewardship of our healthcare resources."
