Members of the Clinical Education team recently visited the new Daphne Steele Campus to help deliver simulated learning sessions for around 90 first-year nursing students.

These sessions form part of a new university module designed to help learners prepare for their first practice placements. Working alongside university staff, Clinical Educators, Sarah Kenningley and Katie Sumpton, guided students through how to conduct an environment safety checklist, how to perform an A&E assessment, and held a Q&A session to help settle any nerves.

Matron for Workforce Development, Vicki Power, said: "This collaboration provides an excellent opportunity to support students’ transition from classroom learning to real-world clinical practice. Our first-year nursing students will be joining us in January for their initial placements, following a full induction to the organisation - and we’re looking forward to welcoming them into our teams."
