Colleagues working at CRH may have spotted some large machinery and extra deliveries on site in the last week or two as we progress with the build of the new Multi-Storey Car Park, and start excavation work in preparation for the construction of the new clinical building.

Since the middle of November, precast concrete sections of the car park have been arriving on site (see main image, left) on flatbed lorries and via a mobile crane. There will be more deliveries of precast concrete up until Christmas where you will then start to see the stairs and lift shafts taking shape.

You can also see the progress in the photo attached which has been taken from the time-lapse camera.

Our construction partners Laing O'Rourke are also doing some excavation work which is currently happening in the Women and Children's car park. You may have seen a huge 360 excavator arrive on site which has now broken ground to expose rock head (see main image, right). The work will test out the techniques to be used to support the construction of the new clinical build.

Thank you to colleagues for your continued patience and support.
