For Carers' Rights Day this Thursday we're proud to promote the support available which makes sure that carers are aware of their rights and feel empowered to use them.
Every day, 12,000 people in the UK become unpaid carers for a partner, family member or a friend – many of whom don’t see themselves as carers, often unaware of their legal rights and what they’re entitled to in terms of support and benefits.
There is support available locally which is designed to reduce some of the pressures caring can bring whether people are caring for many hours or a few, or juggle care with work and family life.
We encourage unpaid carers to contact Carers Count for support and advice:
- Calderdale: hone 01422 369101 or email: info@carerscount.org.uk
- Kirklees: phone 0300 012 0231 or email: info@carerscount.org.uk
The team from Calderdale Carers Count will be on site at CRH this Thursday.
Carers Count Kirklees are holding an event this Thursday, 13:00 - 17:30, Room G5, Brian Jackson House, Huddersfield, HD1 5JP. This event will offer information stalls from other local organisations, advice and information to support you in your caring role, and some fun, relaxing activities!
