This week as part of Movember, we're focusing on prostate cancer. It’s an important one, as it's the most commonly diagnosed cancer in men in the UK.

  • Why we're talking about it: Globally, over 1.4 million men are diagnosed with prostate cancer each year. In the UK, one man dies from it every 45 minutes.
  • Knowledge is power: The good news is that early detection makes a significant difference. Awareness is the first step.
  • What can we do? The best advice is to be aware of your own body and risk factors (like age, family history, and ethnicity). Encourage colleagues, friends, and family members in at-risk groups to have a conversation with their GP about what's right for them. You can check you risk on The Prostate Cancer website in 30 seconds by answering three quick questions.

Thanks again for being part of this, everyone and let's keep the conversations going!

It's not too late to join the Great CHFT Mo-Off!

It's never too late to join the fun! Remember, this is for everyone.

  1. Grow a real mo, sport a fake one, or get creative (we love the crafty ones!).
  2. Snap a selfie (solo or as a team).
  3. Email it to odteam@cht.nhs.uk to be featured on our wall!
