We are in the process of installing a range of new equipment into our pathology laboratories at Calderdale Royal Hospital (CRH) as part of the New Pathology Partnership, and pending transfer of Microbiology services to St James’s University Hospital in Leeds.
This change requires that we take the following tests associated with this equipment out of UKAS (the National accrediting body) scope, due to the lengthy process of extending scope to incorporate the new equipment:
Sample type - serum gel tube.
Tests:
- Hepatitis B Antibody Titre
- Hepatitis B Core Antibody
- Hepatitis B Surface Antigen
- Hepatitis C Antibody
- HIV Antibody/p24 antigen
- Rubella IgG
- Syphilis Antibody
We would like to reassure you that all our current live tests are validated, verified and meet the requirements of the accredited Quality Management System at CHFT. All quality assurance procedures have been completed and as such these tests meet the required standards.
There will be no impact to patient management and no difference in the interpretation of results.
