In August the latest National Cancer Patient Experience Survey results were released.

The survey was sent to our adult patients aged 16 or over, who had a confirmed primary diagnosis of cancer, and discharged after an inpatient episode or day case for cancer related treatment between April and June 2024, and more than 400 responded.

This survey looked at the whole patient journey from diagnosis to end of treatment, including diagnostic tests, hospital care, treatment, support while at home, living with and beyond cancer.

Since then departmental results have been shared and our Colorectal Team (pictured) achieved an On parr / above National average in almost every area.

Lead Colorectal Clinical Nurse Specialist, Helen Ilsley, said: “At a time when it is challenging to meet the targets set for cancer services, we are delighted to hear that the voice of our patients is so positive. Our patients are the focus of everything we do, and it means the world to know that we are serving them well.  The whole Colorectal MDT work incredibly hard to achieve this and we are very proud of the feedback.”
