Our Prevention of Delirium Team are now offering Music 4 Memories headsets, which is a safe and enjoyable way for our patients with dementia, delirium or cognitive impairment, to access music therapy. The headsets have been bought through fundraising. 

The headsets have 18 playlists that patients can choose from - all tailored to specific eras or genres.

Music therapy offers numerous benefits to our patients including:

• Improved mood and wellbeing - which helps reduce stress and anxiety.
• Enhanced cognitive function - to stimulate memory and cognitive abilities.
• Social interaction - encourage social engagement and connection.
• Pain management - alleviate pain and discomfort.

Attached is a helpful poster if you would like to order a headset for your patient(s). In total there are 100 headsets available across both CRH and HRI. Headsets need to be booked out using the Microsoft Form which can be found by scanning the QR code in the poster, or by emailing enhancedcare@cht.nhs.uk

The headset must be returned to the Prevention of Delirium Team once the patient is discharged.
