From Wednesday, 15th October, prescribers will need to complete a Topiramate Prescribing PowerForm when prescribing topiramate.

This form will not prevent topiramate prescribing – it is designed to provide assurance that all patients who receive topiramate have undergone the correct safety procedures before it is initiated.

The new topiramate prescribing workflow will work in a similar way to the existing sodium valproate prescribing workflow.
