As an organisation and as individuals, we have a duty to ensure that all our dealings are conducted to the highest standards of integrity and that NHS monies are used wisely so that we are using our finite resources in the best interests of patients.

Our Conflicts of Interests and Standards of Business Conduct Policy requires all gifts over £50 to be declared on our online declarations of interest register. A recent report for the Audit and Risk Committee flagged that in the financial year 22/23 only six gifts were declared.

Any over £50 gifts can be accepted with caution if they are received charitable funds (eg ward specific charitable fund), and declared by colleagues.

Section 10a of our policy describes what should be declared. G-47-2006 Conflicts of Interests and Standards of Business Conduct Policy V8.pdf (cht.nhs.uk)

We have an electronic register of interest system - which is where gifts should be declared. It requires colleagues to sign in. If you have any access issues, please contact kathy.bray@cht.nhs.uk for support.
