A real team effort in CRH Theatres has seen a huge turnaround in medical devices training – with them now proudly sat at almost 100% compliance.

Matron, Sarah Bray, said: “The whole team has worked extremely hard to get here. They’ve overcome so many challenges as we’ve had lots of vacancies. At times it seemed impossible, but they finally got there and with a team of 106 in all that's amazing.

"We couldn’t have done it without the support of the medical devices team and huge input from medical devices lead trainer Lisa McCallion. We hope to be one of the first teams to use the new medical device database ensuring best practice and safe care for our patients.”

Medical Devices Training Team Manager, Jayne Blakey, said:  "The difference with CRH Theatres is the amount of work the team have put in to improve the training in a short period of time.  Within a short three months they went from 48% - 98%, which is a huge achievement with the number of colleagues and devices they have in the area.

"I'm so proud of them!"
