Ahead of Nurses’ Day this Friday, newly promoted sister, Kirsty Bryden, is preparing to celebrate with colleagues on the Acute Floor at HRI.

Kirsty is the ward’s One Culture of Care champion, and has organised a raffle with some amazing prizes:

Tickets are £1 per strip and all monies raised will go towards funds for the ward.

Kirsty said: “We are celebrating nurses from across the world with a special mention to our overseas nurses who are kindly bringing in different varieties of food.

“Our UK nurses are also bringing in dishes inspired from family recipes also from different countries.

International Nurses’ Day is observed around the world on 12 May each year, to mark the contributions that nurses make to society on what would have been Florence Nightingale’s birthday. 

Nurses' Day Trust-wide celebration

This coming Friday, 12th May between 8am and 10am there will be a celebration for nurses, midwives and AHPs.

Please join us to celebrate in Forum Room 1A&B at HRI for a face-to-face gathering, enjoy a hot drink and a pastry and discuss the difference nursing makes. 

If you cannot attend please feel free to deputise someone from your area or department. All welcome.
