Weekly Ward Foam Mattress Audits are a ‘Must Do’. They are paramount in the preservation of patient safety, ensuring patients are getting effective pressure relief and reducing the risk of healthcare associated infections.

The tool can be found on the Zebra devices where there is a link to a short Microsoft Teams form. Colleagues should log in using their Trust email credentials.

Attached are a SOP and a ‘Made Easy’ guide for mattress assessment. Please note, this is a foam mattress audit tool only, dynamic mattresses are regularly serviced and cleaned through a robust decontamination and maintenance service.

Only one foam mattress can be recorded per Teams form, recording multiple mattresses will cease the audit null and void as data cannot be collated.
