Colleagues at the Recruitment Strategy Development session

CHFT has launched a new Recruitment Strategy that has been co-created with colleagues from across the Trust. Thank you to all colleagues who contributed and came along to the Recruitment Strategy Development sessions (pictured).

Assistant Director of Workforce and OD, Jackie Robinson, said: "Our CHFT Recruitment Strategy has been co-created with colleagues from across the Trust. It describes how we all create a positive impact so that CHFT is one of the best places to work in the NHS, that we develop pathways into employment for our local community and that we grow our own. Through this, we attract colleagues who demonstrate One Culture of Care to each other and to our patients”.

One of the things heard from colleagues when developing the strategy was how careers events should be an opportunity to meet with clinical colleagues so that our future workforce can see what they could be. The next careers fair to recruit Healthcare Support Workers, bank Healthcare Support Workers and Apprentice Healthcare Support Workers is on Saturday, 18th October at the HRI Learning Centre. It will be hosted by 15 colleagues from our Medical Division, supported by colleagues from our Workforce and Organisational Development team. 

The aims of the new strategy are to make sure:

  • CHFT is widely known as one of the best places to work in the NHS 
  • the colleagues we recruit are not only highly skilled but fully aligned with our values and provide compassionate care to our patients
  • we are recognised as a strong partner in our communities offering a wide range of routes into employment
  • we can evidence that we ‘Grow Our Own’ talent via internal promotion and career development successes
  • our workforce demographic reflects the communities we serve and is known for its approach to inclusion and compassion
