Equans and their contractors will be carrying out essential electrical maintenance work on the electrical switch gear at CRH from tomorrow, Tuesday, 9th September. It will be carried out on weekdays over the next two weeks. You can see the areas of work and dates below.

The electrical power supply at CRH is split into:

  • Essential services indicated by red sockets
  • Non-essential services indicated by white sockets

Work will start as detailed below, at approximately 5:30am each morning.

Essential services will experience a momentary interruption of power for approximately 15 seconds (just like on the routine generator testing).

Non-essential services will experience an interruption of power for approximately 15 minutes.

Following this period, essential services will experience a second momentary interruption of power of approximately 15 seconds and then both essential and non-essential services will resume.

Switching off your computer properly will help prevent lost data.

Please switch off computers correctly when leaving work prior to the electrical shutdown. This means computers must be switched off at the socket. If this does not happen there is a risk that data on display will be lost.

Prior to any electrical work commencing, Equans will visit critical areas such as A&E, ICU, Diagnostic Imaging, Theatres and Pathology to ensure colleagues are aware of the planned work and to ensure it is safe and appropriate to carry out the work.

All lifts will be appropriately signed and checked during the power interruptions.

Please direct all queries on the day to the Help Desk on 4600.

For queries ahead of the work please contact the Service Performance Team on Extension 2439 or 2530 or Email: val.rigg@cht.nhs.uk or directly to Equans on Extension 4633.
