Colleagues in our Medical Division have organised a fundraising walk to support their colleague Sarah Bevan and make a donation to the rehabilitation ward at Chapel Allerton.

The 26 mile walk is the first of a series of fundraisers the team are organising over the next few months - their goal is to raise £15,000.

Anyone is welcome to join the walk on Sunday, 28th September, if you're interested please fill out this form.

The team said: "We've wanted to support Sarah and her recovery as much as we can. Doing the walk is something we can do as a group that will be a challenge for us but it’s something that can be inclusive for people to join us on. Hopefully lots of people will get behind."

Director of Operations, Helen Rees, is also taking part in the Vale of York half-marathon on the 7th of September to also help fundraise for Sarah. She said: "I do enjoy running as part of a running club but my normal distance is 5 to 10K so a half-marathon is definitely out of my comfort zone.

"Sarah has been a real inspiration to me when I think about how far she’s come in the past year in her rehab and how hard she’s working to regain her movement, speech etc. The half-marathon and walk will be a few hours of discomfort for me but Sarah is battling every day to improve her future."

The team have also launched an easyfundrasing page, which means companies donate to the cause on the back of online shopping. This costs individuals nothing but will increase donations.
