Thanks to the support of colleagues, since we launched our free Park and Ride service, almost 110,000 seats have been taken on journeys, including our cross-site shuttle bus service.
Our Transport Team has reviewed the data in depth and found that the Eureka! park and ride service is under-used between 10:00 and 14:00, when the bus has been generally running empty, except for a handful of occasions.
From Monday, 8th September, the buses between Eureka! and CRH will run as per the current timetable, except between 10:00 and 14:00 when there will be no service. The data shows that there should be minimal impact on colleagues, but it will mean we are operating a more efficient and reliable service and will save us around £40,000 in this financial year. It will also, importantly, help us be more sustainable and environmentally friendly as we work towards being net-zero as part of our Green Plan.
We thank colleagues who use the Eureka! service for their support and understanding as we make these changes. And just a reminder that those who travel between 10:00 and 14:00 can still use the Cedar Court service, which has plenty of capacity. Please register your car registration number on the day you park using the hotel’s visitor parking website. There is also a QR code on buses and colleagues can also register via the intranet.
Shuttle bus changes from Monday, 8th September
As the Transport Team have been able to look at the number of colleagues using each service, they have also identified that some cross site shuttle buses run close to empty.
Changing these timetables slightly will also help improve the reliability of the service, so from the 8th of September the cross-site shuttle bus service will run every 20 minutes, instead of 15 at peak times.
Our Transport Team are confident there will be enough seats to accommodate colleagues.
You'll find the timetables below and these will also be added to our intranet pages and Working for Us page on the website by the end of August.
