Pride Month is a celebration of the LGBTQ+ community, and recognises the importance of equality, diversity and love.
Traditionally, LGBTQ+ Pride is in June as this is pride month in the United States. Here in the UK, especially around our local region, most Pride parades and events happen later in the summer. At CHFT, we choose to celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride during August to coincide with our local pride events.
LGBTQ+ inclusion is important all year round, but Pride Month gives a chance to encourage colleagues to:
- Share what pride means to you via this MS Form https://forms.office.com/e/8BUqwhvwP5 or email odteam@cht.nhs.uk It's a chance for you to reflect and share what Pride means to you - whether it’s about celebrating identity, showing allyship, or fostering inclusion. It’s a chance to express how Pride impacts you personally or professionally, and how it shapes your values, relationships, or sense of belonging in the workplace.
- Create a Pride display in your area and share photos with odteam@cht.nhs.uk for a chance to win an afternoon tea for your department.
- Attend our Pride Parade on Friday, 29th August between 12:00 and 12:30 starting from the main entrance of HRI.
