CHFT will be heading to the finals of the Picker Experience Network Awards (PENNA) this October, as our teams have been shortlisted in two categories - Personalisation of Care, and, the Staff Engagement and Improving the Staff Experience. The national awards recognise best practice in patient experience across health and social care, as well as celebrate and share innovative approaches that improve patient and colleague wellbeing.

The Person-Centred Care Working Group are finalists in the Personalisation of Care category.  This recognises the superb contribution and commitment from the diverse members of the working group (facilities, AHPs, nurses, and Experts by Experience, to name a few) who have worked together over the last 18 months to support and improve a person-centred approach across CHFT.

Our Complex Professional MDT have been shortlisted in the Staff Engagement and Improving the Staff Experience category.

Senior Nurse, Vicki Drummond, said: “I’m so very proud that CHFT has been shortlisted in two categories as it truly underpins our commitment to person-centred care. We’re both proud and privileged to work with colleagues who are so passionate about improving the experience of care for patients, carers and members of the team.”

Associate Director of Nursing For Resilience, Acute Flow and Transformation, Renee Comerford, added: “I’m incredibly proud of the entire MDT for the transformative work we’ve all done in delivering truly person-centred care. The complex professional MDT is a pioneering initiative that has redefined how we support patients with complex needs, while empowering colleagues across disciplines and organisations. It’s a model of collaborative, compassionate care that ensures the patient remains at the heart of every decision we make."
