Next month major works will take place at HRI and CRH to refresh our network. The work will link all our Trust systems to new hardware, ensuring ongoing compliance with national regulations. We will also replace ageing hardware.

What’s happening when, and what is the potential disruption going to be?

The works will take place at HRI between Monday, 11th August and Friday, 15th August. Then at CRH from Monday, 18th August to Friday, 22nd August.

There will be potential disruption to IT services, such as network connectivity, between 06:00 and 08:00 daily during the refresh period at each site.

There is also likely to be an impact on the following clinical systems at each site:

  • On Tuesday, 12th August at HRI, between 06:00 and 08:00 there will be an impact (such as timing out, ability to log in etc) to the following clinical systems: NerveCentre, ICE Order Comms and Endoscopy Solus.
  • On Tuesday, 19th August CRH, between 06:00 and 08:00 there will be an impact (such as timing out, ability to log in etc) to the following clinical systems: NerveCentre, ICE Order Comms, GP Portal, Varian, Endoscopy Solus and MediTex (Yorkshire Fertility EPR)

We do not any expect wider impact on colleagues or services. However, in the event of an unexpected issue, please follow the standard process for reporting to IT. If issues persist, please refer to your local Business Continuity Plans (BCPs).

IT Services will be coordinating the work and closely monitoring systems throughout, with third-party support services on standby to assist with any issues if required.

If you have any questions in advance, please email: matthew.griffiths2@this.nhs.uk

We will reshare these communications throughout August.
