Radiology Charge Nurse, Gareth Firth, is taking on an epic 1,000 mile bike ride with his 13 year old son Theo to raise money for Guide Dogs.
Starting on Saturday, 19th July, the route will take them from Land's End to John O'Groats, taking in 1,000 miles and over 14,400m of assent. They are hoping to complete the challenge in 15 days. The longest day will see them cycling 85 miles.
Gareth, (pictured with Theo), said: "Theo's love of dogs and passion for helping others were the deciding factors in choosing this charity to benefit from our epic adventure.
"I did Lands End to John O'Groats, on a tandem with my dad, when I was 13, back in 1996, as part of the Tandem Clubs 25th anniversary. So, Theo, who is a keen cyclist, has wanted to do it as well since hearing the stories from me and my dad."
