Last year we launched Part 1 of The Oliver McGowan Essential Safety Training for Learning Disability and Autism. This is an eLearning module for all colleagues.

Now Part 2 of the package is available for colleagues to complete, and has been assigned to Employee Staff Records (ESR). Depending on your role, you will complete Tier 1 or Tier 2. Here is how:

  • Colleagues requiring Tier 1 (non-patient facing) should book their training place via First Response Training using this link: West Yorkshire Oliver McGowan Courses
  • Colleagues requiring Tier 2 (patient-facing) can view session dates and book directly through ESR self-enrolment via My Compliance – see the attached information below on how to do this. These face-to-face training sessions are being run over the next three years, with spaces in this first year being limited.

More information

  • All colleagues must complete the Oliver McGowan (Part 1) eLearning before booking a Part 2 session.
  • If you are required to carry out Tier 2, due to the time it may take before a face to face session is carried out, non-compliance will not affect your appraisal or pay progression.
  • If you book a space but cannot attend, please cancel in good time so we can offer the training to other staff.
