The finalists in our Go See category of our CHuFT Awards have also been sharing their thoughts. In this the judges were looking for a team or colleague who always considers the art of the possible, thinks creatively, seeks out new ideas and can bring these ideas into practice.

Our finalists are:

  • Danielle Frost, Sister: ICU
  • Frailty Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACPs): Frailty
  • Renee Comerford, Associate Director of Nursing: Resilience, Acute Flow and Transformation (RAFT)
  • Dr Sarah Saqib: Medical Staff, Obs and Gynae
  • USDEC Implementation Team – ED and Acute Teams

Danielle was away when she heard the news and told us: “When I found out that I had been selected I was on holiday in Greece and all of a sudden received loads of congratulations messages from colleagues and friends. I initially wondered what was happening until my matron Sue messaged me to "get my frock ready" - then realised what it was! I’m looking forward to getting dressed up and having an evening out with colleagues and friends to be honest because as a new mum these things don't happen often.”

Jo Banks and Kelly Moss, shared the thoughts of the ACPs: “We feel both very proud and thankful to be shortlisted out of so many other amazing nominations. We have quite a large team of ACPs working within Frailty in both the hospital and community settings, so in order to make it as fair as possible we picked names out of a cup to select the lucky attendees. We're all excited and look forward to meeting the other fantastic finalists and celebrating all that we have achieved.”

Renee added: “I was absolutely thrilled to hear that I’ve been shortlisted. At its heart, my role is about going to see, listening, and working alongside the incredible teams across CHFT to bring meaningful transformation to life. This nomination isn’t just mine; it belongs to all the brilliant colleagues I work with every day. Their passion, innovation, and commitment make everything possible. On the night, I’m really looking forward to celebrating everyone’s fantastic work. As healthcare professionals, we often see what we do as ‘just part of the job,’ but the truth is we do extraordinary things every day, and we should all be proud of that.”

Sarah said: "I am so humbled to be shortlisted for these prestigious awards. Getting the Viewpoint ultrasound reporting software across our service in Maternity and Early Pregnancy Unit was a win for me after working on it for a long time. The amazing team involved and the complexities they have resolved is phenomenal. It gives me great pleasure to have been able to contribute towards safer maternal care at CHFT."
