Our Pharmacy Team bade farewell to Pharmacist, Wendy Sunter last week as she retired after an incredible 38 years of service.
Clinical Director of Pharmacy, Lis Street, said: "Wendy joined the Trust on day one of her career as a Pharmacist, straight after completing her pre-registration year and she has been a cornerstone of our Pharmacy Team since then.
"Over almost four decades, her passion, expertise, and leadership have helped shape our service and set national standards. Thanks in large part to Wendy’s dedication, the Trust's approach to Venous thromboembolism (VTE) achieved exemplar status – a reflection of her unwavering commitment to patient safety and clinical excellence.
"Wendy is a published pharmaceutical author and respected voice in the clinical pharmacy field and is even cited in Stockley’s Drug Interactions for her work on the interaction between warfarin and garlic – a testament to her expertise and lasting contribution. Always ahead of the curve, she was among the first cohort of pharmacists to qualify as an Independent Prescriber, and in 2023 she was accredited as a Consultant Pharmacist by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society – a well-earned recognition of her trailblazing career.
"As she begins her well-deserved retirement, Wendy is looking forward to travelling and enjoying new adventures with her husband, Graham."
Congratulations on your long career Wendy and best of luck for the future.
