It's a Must Do to make sure the kitchen areas in our hospitals stay clean to help with infection prevention.

Can all colleagues please make sure they:

  • Clean kitchen areas regularly, paying close attention to cracks and crevices where food crumbs or moisture may collect.
  • Do not leave opened food items out.
  • Dispose of food waste regularly and correctly. Food waste needs to be put in the food waste collection bins in the kitchen areas.
  • Do not leave dirty dishes or food residue on counters/sinks overnight.
  • Store food correctly - keep food in airtight containers and/or food in the fridge.
  • Regularly check fridge and pantry items for damage and date and clear them out when necessary.
