It's Learning Disability Week and the bus is back! The Autism Experience bus will be at CRH on Thursday, 19th June for colleagues to experience for themselves what it's like to live with Autism. The bus will be in the Endoscopy car park between 10:00 - 13:00 and 13:30 - 16:00 for anyone who would like to take part. You do not need to book.

Lead Nurse for Learning Disabilities, Amanda Mckie, said: "This year's theme is 'do you see me'? The Hospital Passport is in place to ensure people’s individual needs are met during their stay. Making reasonable adjustments to an individual’s care is vital, and the Hospital Passport can help you to do this. Make sure a person with a learning disability is flagged on EPR, and if they do not bring a passport with them, print one and help them to fill it in."

The Hospital Passports can be downloaded on the supporting patients with learning disabilities intranet page. You can also find plenty more information about how we can help support patients or visitors with a Learning Disability.

Amanda, and Enhanced Care Support Worker, Toseef Ahmed, are running monthly Lunch and Learn sessions for Learning Disabilities, starting on Tuesday, 22nd July. The dates and times for all sessions are as follows:

  • Tuesday, 22 July, 12:00 - 13:00
  • Wednesday, 27 August, 12:00 - 13:00
