There is a new Peak Flow Assessment section in the “Assessments/Fluid Balance” tab on EPR. Peak Flow can indicate how narrow/tight an airway is, by measuring how fast a person can forcefully breath out (l/min).

This can help monitor the condition / symptom severity.

This assessment can be found under:

  • Paediatric and Adult Detailed Assessment, and:
  • ED Paediatric and Adult Assessment

You can add:

  • Peak Flow Actual - the actual peak flow at that time
  • Peak Flow Best - the previous best peak flow
  • Peak Flow Predicted - the best predicted, based on their height (which can be found by clicking on ‘Peak Flow Predicted’ in blue text

It will then work out the % of tightness in their airway and could help steer treatments based on the Asthma Guidelines.
