Here at CHFT we understand the huge difference unpaid carers make to their loved ones and appreciate that caring responsibilities can have an impact on the health and wellbeing of unpaid carers.

As Carers' Week runs from next Monday, 9th to Sunday 15th June, our Patient Experience Team, our Executive and Non-Executive Team and others will be out and about all week visiting wards and areas to talk through how the support we offer makes a difference. Do say hello and find out more.

There are also some CHFT sessions planned to help colleagues understand the support we offer unpaid carers, how to signpost to local support, how to identify that somebody is a carer, and also how to record them as a carer on Cerner EPR.

  • Monday, 9th June - pop and see the Patient Experience Team outside Ingleton Falls at CRH between 13:00 and 14:30
  • Tuesday, 10th June - 14:00 to 14:30 - virtual event to learn more about identification, involvement and support for unpaid carers for all colleagues. Save the date and link in your diary: Join the meeting now
  • Thursday, 12th June - there will be a lunch and learn session in Room 2 of the Learning Centre at HRI between 11:00 and 13:00
  • Tuesday, 10th June 14:30 to 15:00 - virtual event to learn more about identification, involvement and support for unpaid carers for all colleagues. Save the date and link in your diary: Join the meeting now

We appreciate that many colleagues may have a role as unpaid carers, so do feel free to join any of the events, and if you need any wellbeing support, you can find it on our intranet.
