Congratulations to Mike Stamp, Ageing Well Practitioner, who will be representing the country in the Hyrox World Championships 2025 in Chicago from the 12th – 15th June.

Mike (pictured at one of the Hyrox events), said: "It is fantastic to be representing my country and the disabled community. I was born with Spina Bifida and I will go in the 'neuro minor' category after finishing 3rd in the world in this category.

I have also just turned 50! I am a community physio who specialises in the elderly and helping people age well, so it feels fantastic to be a part of this, and to show what's possible!"

Hyrox is a functional fitness race which involves eight 1km runs which are followed by:

  • 1km on a Ski Erg machine
  • 50m Sled Push (150+ kg)
  • 50m Sled Pull (100+ kg)
  • 80m Burpee Broad Jumps
  • 1km on a rowing machine
  • 200m Farmer Carry with two kettlebells at 24kg each
  • 100m of walking lunges (20kg).
  • 100 wall balls (with a 6kg ball to hit a target).

Best of luck to Mike!
