This week around 50 colleagues who work in the clinical office space in H Block at CRH have all moved out to temporary new homes as the space gets a makeover. The refurbishment will happen over the next two months and will be similar to the work on N Block which was completed at the end of 2024.

Head Nurse for the Medical Division, Vanessa Dickinson, said: "I would like to thank all the teams for their cooperation with the move which has enabled this to happen with minimal issues. A special thank you goes to Tony from IT for all his support moving our computers and phone lines. As a team we are all really looking forward to the newly refurbished space on H Block and working closer together with our colleagues."

As part of the move 50 desks and 30 cabinets that are damaged and would have ended up in landfill are being recycled which means the Trust will get a green certificate from the recycling company, Sustain, for this work.

The teams who have temporarily moved from H Block are:

  • NIV/CE
  • Medicine management
  • Liver CNS
  • Endoscopy admin
  • SMT/matrons
  • AND/head nurse
  • Psychology team
  • Arrythmia team
  • Cardiology team
  • Resus team
  • Rheumatology team
  • Respiratory nurses
  • Renal nurse
  • Cardiology consultants
  • Lung CNS
  • Respiratory consultants
  • Quality and safety team

Contact information for the teams will stay the same.

Janette Cockroft, Nurse Lead, Foundations for our Future programme, said: "Block H has for many years has had an increasing number of colleagues utilising the available office space and as a result has become a jumbled mixture of desks and storage. The opportunity has arisen for this to become a refurbished office accommodation with a mixture of team hubs and agile work spaces. The layout has been designed to provide a light and airy working environment with new furniture and storage, it has also prompted teams to have a major declutter. Feedback from teams on N block has been very positive and we hope that when the teams move back in on H block, they will feel the benefit too."
