Last Wednesday, 21st May, Mary Griffiths, Medical Secretary and a dedicated member of the Respiratory Service team, retired after a fantastic 40 years at CHFT!
Mary started in orthopaedics, before moving to HRI in 1987 as a Medical Secretary. Over the last 30 years, since 1997, Mary has been part of the Respiratory Service.
Mary's colleagues have described her as "compassionate", "reliable" and "the kindest soul".
Team Lead, Medical Secretaries, Tegan Joseph, said: "For me, as her manager, Mary has been nothing but supportive, compassionate and a real role model for the secretaries and our services. I would like to personally thank Mary for your years of dedication and hard work which have inspired many.
"Enjoy this new phase filled with rest, travel, and beautiful memories. It is the end of an era, and a legacy has been left here at CHFT, she will be so greatly missed."
After a surprise presentation from the team, and Chief Executive, Brendan Brown, Mary (pictured on the far left), said: "Thank you all so much, what a wonderful surprise. It has been a pleasure working with you all over the years."
