Sister, Bethany Edmondson, has recently passed her non-medical prescribing and Matron, Rachel Shine, wanted to highlight the fantastic work Bethany and the whole Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) Team do at CRH.

The ACS team, led by Lead ACS Nurse, James Thomas, alongside Sisters, Emma Barrow and Bethany, play a vital role in reviewing patients with acute coronary symptoms, attending to unwell individuals in the Emergency Department, and monitoring inpatients at risk of deterioration across the hospital. The team also run specialist clinics to support patients with acute coronary conditions, ensuring timely follow-up and continuity of care.

Bethany began her journey with us as a Clinical Support Worker in 2020 whilst completing her nursing studies, qualifying in 2021. In March 2024, she was successfully appointed as a Sister and joined the ACS team, embarking on her specialist cardiology training and non-medical prescribing qualification.

Rachel said: "Beth is an integral member of both the ACS and Cardiology teams. Her kindness, inclusivity, and unwavering support for patients, families, and colleagues embody the values we hold dear. She also contributes significantly to the training and development of the cardiology nursing staff.

"A heartfelt thank you, Beth, for everything you do — and a huge congratulations on passing your non-medical prescribing! The whole team are CHuFT to bits for you!"
