Last Friday, 16th May, saw Lead Nurse for Children and Young People, Julie Mellor, and Safeguarding Lead, Alison Edwards, participate in one final fundraiser before they retire this summer.

Positioned in the main entrance at CRH, Julie and Alison participated in a static bike ride to raise money for the CHFT Charity Ray of Sunshine Appeal, cycling more than 78km to celebrate a combined 78 years of NHS service. So far they have managed to raise more than £1,500 for the appeal - smashing their £500 target.

Fundraising and Engagement Co-ordinator, Emma-Leigh Quinn, said: "It was clear to see the love and appreciation for Julie and Alison on Friday. Colleagues came to support them throughout the day and helped them achieve their fundraising goal. Currently they have raised £1,531 so we can continue to support children and young people at CHFT.

"I am so proud that we have such amazing colleagues who want to leave a lasting impact on the Trust and continue to make improvements. It was my honour to help Julie and Alison with their fundraising on Friday and I know they are going to be very much missed."

A special thanks to Pure Gym Halifax for lending us the bike.
