Over the past three years, the tissue viability service has been reviewing the Wound Management Dressings Formulary used at CHFT.

They’ve worked their magic and have set out sub-categories and information so that colleagues can choose the right dressing for the right wound.

To support the launch, there are planned events at HRI and CRH, with a Community event in the pipeline.

The annual NHS cost of wound management in 2018 was £8.3 billion, of which £2.7 billion and £5.6 billion were associated with managing healed and unhealed wounds, respectively, so selecting the right dressing not only supports our patients, but our pocket too.
