Safety topic for the May newsletter

To promote patient safety, before attaching the BloodTrack label to the blood sample tube/blood request form, ensure the patient details on the label are correct. If the patient’s name does not fit on the BloodTrack label, please complete the missing characters by hand.

The placement of the BloodTrack label is important. Please ensure the clear part of the blood sample tube is not covered.

After the blood sample has been taken it is paramount the blood tube is evacuated fully before the stork is removed.
