Last week the Physiotherapy Outpatient service moved to their new home at Bowling Mill, Dean Clough, Halifax. That means the following services are all using the newly refurbished space:

  • Amputee Outpatient Service
  • Bladder and Bowel Outpatient Service
  • Lymphoedema Outpatient Service
  • Podiatry Outpatient clinics
  • Physiotherapy Outpatients

Community Therapies, Urgent Community Response (UCR), and District Nursing Hubs 4&5/Central and North are based on the fourth floor and are using this as their new agile working area.

Last Friday, 9th May, the Physiotherapy Outpatient service held their first clinics in the new department.

Physiotherapist, Leah England, said: "The space is amazing. It's so airy and fresh. For me I think it's ideal that we're in a community setting rather than hospital. The gym space has more opportunities for our patient classes (arthritis, shoulders, Pilates etc), and it's a great place to come to have physiotherapy and leave feeling better."

Assistant Practitioner, Haris Zubair added: "Having windows and natural sunlight really uplifts the mood. Having worked in the gym at CRH for three years I'm looking forward to being at Dean Clough."

Our first patient through the doors was Robert Taylor, from Greetland, who said Physiotherapist Craig Coulson for a follow-up appointment. He said: "It's such a smart space and I'm not normally one for the gym."

Receptionist and Admin, Dawn Bruce, was carrying out her first shift at Dean Clough on Friday. She said: "I've been used to supporting the physiotherapy teams at CRH, so now I'm here at Dean Clough I'll be supporting all our clinics.

"The new offices and spaces look much more professional, light and welcoming."
