Over the next couple of months colleagues will begin to see progress on our new multi-storey car park at CRH. The image shows the footprint of the car park and the landscaping around it.

We know that a number of colleagues may have joined #TeamCHFT since last summer, so here are some reminders about parking, Park and Ride and our cross-site shuttle bus service:

Only short stay, on-call and priority parking is available at CRH during the day for colleagues.

Due to the reduced number of spaces at CRH, our main car parks at CRH remain for patients and visitors only (except bank holidays when we will share information in advance). Our security team will continue to carry out spot checks at barriers.

  • Night and Weekend parking is available in the Women’s and Children’s car park
  • Passes can’t be used to access the Women's and Children's car park during week days. This will be closely monitored.
  • All the spaces in the car park outside the old Learning Centre at CRH are for priority or on-call permit holders only and the car park is barrier controlled.
  • Our short stay parking bays can be found parallel to the other side of the old Learning Centre, accessed through the A&E car park – see the image below. There continues to be a limit of two hours parking, and allocation is on a first come, first served basis.
  • Please continue to park in the appropriate bay for your permit (red bays for priority and yellow or green bays for on-call) and display your dashboard permit.
  • Colleagues can access free Night and Weekend Parking in the Women’s and Children’s car park. Please do not use this car park at other times.

Parking at HRI and Acre Mills

Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology is used in all our car parks at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and Acre Mills Outpatients and the Staff Car park at Acre Mills.

To avoid receiving a fine, you must follow two steps when applying:

  1. Register for a Nexus Account
  2. Then apply for your permit

Thank you for parking considerately in our car parks.

Park and Ride service

We have two park and ride car parks for colleagues who work at CRH: Cedar Court, Ainley Top and Eureka! Overflow car park. Colleagues may be asked for a QR code, or to provide their name when boarding.

Cross site shuttle bus service

The HRI to CRH shuttle bus operates Monday to Friday, except bank holidays. Colleagues who are parked at Cedar Court can ask the driver to stop when they board.

Read more on our car parking permits, Park and Ride and shuttle bus information page.

The new multi-storey car park is part of the Foundations for our Future programme, which is our long-term vision to transform our services in Calderdale and Huddersfield.
