Our Green Champion story in this week's CHFT News shows how we can all help work toward our CHFT Net Zero goal.
If you are clinical and passionate about sustainability here at CHFT, then it's the final week to register your interest to become a Net Zero Clinical Lead to help us on our journey towards a greener future as we look to refresh our Green Plan.
This is a voluntary role aimed at colleagues with a clinical background, senior management responsibility and significant leadership experience. You would be expected to give around one hour's commitment per week and regular attendance to the Green Planning Committee, which meets bi-monthly. You must have your line manager’s support.
In this role, you will:
- Lead and support initiatives to reduce carbon emissions in clinical practice
- Work with teams to embed sustainable healthcare solutions
- Advocate for greener policies and practices within the Trust
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to achieve NHS Net Zero goals

- The candidate must have a clinical background
- This is a voluntary role with a commitment of between one and two hours per week
- You must be able to regularly attend Green Planning Committee meetings. These are held on the 4th Monday of every other month (the meeting date for May is to be confirmed)
- The candidate must have significant leadership experience, or senior management responsibility (so they are in a position to make and implement decisions)
