Last week saw CHFT's Eid Al-Fitr celebration event take place in the Learning Centre at HRI. Over 40 colleagues attended, along with visitors from our local communities.

Medical Secretary Team Lead, Tegan Joseph, said: "Thank you to those who supported this event. A huge shout-out to Muslim Chaplain Zeenat Hussain for ensuring the afternoon was spectacular! It was a great afternoon to highlight the importance of Eid, educating and empowering our colleagues to get involved in the next events."

Research Healthcare Professional, Zuleikha Mulla, was a speaker at the event and said: "It is touching to know the trust goes above and beyond to raise educational awareness of cultural and religious values. We reap the fruits of these events by endorsing positive work environments and building colleague rapport."

Chair Calderdale Council of Mosques, Nadeem Mir QPM, said: "Thank you for the invite and well done. Such events promote a better understanding of our diverse workforce. As statutory organisations it shows how you value diversity and inclusion." 

Cultural Liaison Officer, Kainaat Ali, added: "It was a fantastic event and it was an honour to be able to attend. There was a wonderful a sense of community, which is the real spirit of Eid, and it was lovely to see such a diverse group of attendees. The speakers delivered engaging and powerful speeches/presentations, capturing the essence of Ramadan and Eid and highlighting the importance of looking after one another. Of course, the food was amazing too so that deserves a mention."
