Bradford University Student Radiographer, Tina Fuller, has been spending some time with our Research Team after attending an event in Leeds showcasing how Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) can progress into the field of Research.
After the event, Tina who has been working at CHFT for 18 months, went straight to her clinical lead to see if there was a way to find out more.
Of course, our fabulous team were only too happy to oblige, with Research Healthcare Professional, Zuleikha Mulla, giving Tina a 48-hour whistle stop tour of Research and Development.
Tina said: “I’ve realised that to work in research you need a real attention for detail. What’s also rewarding is knowing that there is a lot of patient interaction as the team follow patients through their pathway.
“I’m 100% certain that I want to progress into Research and will be looking at what my next steps will be after I qualify.
“Zuleikha has been amazingly fantastic, answering what must have felt like three billion questions! In fact the whole team have all been really welcoming.”
Zuleikha’s own story features on Aspiring Allies, a digital forum with the aim of spreading awareness and engagement to raise the profile of Allied Health Professional careers.
She said: “I’m so pleased Tina got in touch. It’s been my goal to raise awareness of how AHPs can expand their careers, and I’ve loved sharing more with her. I've been working hard to embed research and raise awareness for AHP career progression. It’s amazing to see the outcome of her hard work.”
