Last week we shared how the Medical and Urgent SDEC trial is having a huge impact on patient flow, and it seems the word is out, as we hosted a visit by a team from Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust on Wednesday.
During their time at CHFT they visited the Digital Command Centre, Discharge Lounge, Frailty SDEC, Frailty Short Stay Unit, Urgent and Medical Same Day Emergency Care and the Accident and Emergency department.
We shared our progress in Urgent and Emergency Care, highlighting how using data and patient experience we have changed services that meet patient need, and in turn improves quality and performance.
Deputy Director of Medicine, Jason Bushy, said: “Hearing the positive comments from our visitors demonstrates how the efforts of so many colleagues working together is truly putting the patient first, and with great results for our patients and their families. It was a pleasure to showcase the work being carried out at CHFT and brought home how far we’ve come in such a short space of time.
”The team were very impressed by services that they visited and took away lots of ideas to implement in the North East."
Matron, Charlotte Bowdell, added: "We also shared our Trust's frailty journey from 2017 to the present day. It was great to showcase all the work put in by colleagues on Ward 3, which is our Short Stay Frailty Unit, especially in relation to how our close relationships with local partnership organisations are key to working together."
Thank you to all #TeamCHFT colleagues involved!
