Here are the friendly faces behind our upcoming InPhase sessions, Adam Yates-Galliford and John Milne. Both work in the Quality and Safety Team, Adam as a Team Administrator and John as InPhase Project Manager.
Here, Adam tells us little about his NHS history and how colleagues can get support with their queries.
How long have you worked at CHFT?
I have worked for the Trust since October 2020 (how time flies) and before that I was with North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) as an Emergency Medical Technician, before moving into incidents and complaints for NWAS.
What drew you to the world of Risk Management?
I have always had an interest in patient experience and patient safety, and had a background with the Datix System.
I firmly believe that incidents reported honestly and openly, can help support learning from any possible mistakes. It can have a significant positive impact on patient experience and patient safety and can be a real driver for change.
How long did it take to introduce InPhase?
The work started about 12 months ago, with more intense work on the project from last September. It has been a very steep learning curve and continues to be so. Though we are conscious that there are aspects that need to be improved, we are still working very hard to deliver a system that provides colleagues with the reporting functionality that they need, to be able to review and track incidents that occur within the Trust.
What are the main queries raised by colleagues so far?
Currently the main queries are about accessing the system (through the single sign-on), as well as colleagues not always receiving the appropriate type and number of notifications when they’ve submitted an incident.
The other main query is how we can tailor reports on the system for different departments and wards.
How can people get help with their queries?
We would always urge people to email the Incident and Risk Team at InPhase.admin@cht.nhs.uk and we will do our best to resolve any issues that they may have.
John and I will be available for the lunchtime Q&A sessions and hope to be able to address many of the concerns that people have.
