Consultant Nurse for Mental Health, Ian Noonan, has organised several mental health skills study days. These are specifically focused on the mental health needs most common in people aged 16 to 65 who use our emergency departments, acute floors, medical, surgical, and gastro wards.

The sessions will cover:

  • Understanding self-harm and suicide
  • The experience of people with personality disorders in acute hospitals
  • Working with people with eating disorders
  • Case-study based application of the Mental Capacity Act and Mental Health Act
  • Trauma informed approaches to care of patients and each other
