Last Friday, 28th March, Chief Nursing Officer for England, Duncan Burton, and Non-Executive Directors Professor Sir Robert Lechler and Mark Bailie visited our Halifax Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC).
Chief Nurse, Lindsay Rudge, Deputy Chief Executive, Rob Aitchison, and Deputy Director of Operations for Families and Specialist Services, Sarah Clenton, led the tour of the centre to see the facilitates and talk about how the centre is providing better patient experience by delivering care closer to home. They also spoke with colleagues across the CDC about our pathways of care, and how they are helping people be tested quicker, and in some cases avoid having to come to hospital at all.
Lindsay said: “Throughout the visit we heard such wonderful feedback about the care we give at the CDC, which reflect how we’re setting a high standard – one which stood out for me was ‘this is how it should be’.
“They were also so complimentary about every colleague they spoke to. Specifically, how knowledgeable, and passionate you are about improving patient experience, as well as supporting and developing one another as colleagues. Thank you to everyone involved, you have all truly reflected our One Culture of Care.”
Last week more than 1,500 tests were completed at Halifax CDC. This is typically over 400 drop-in bloods tests per week (which run 7 days a week), 500 X-Rays, 200 CT scans, over 100 US scans and 50 ECHOs.
Thank you to everyone involved in supporting the visit.
